I keep getting red bumps after I shave my pubic hair. What can I do to keep those red bumps away?

I've tryed deodrant and it doesn't help much and please don't say hair remover...that's obvious.

I get the same thing after shaving my face and pubic hair. It is razor burn. Try changing the blades. Always shave in the same direction that you have started shaving. Also before shaving wet the area and try using moisturizer before you apply the shaving cream that helps too.

dont use hair remover. you have sensitive skin down there and hair remover would wake up the neighbors. use a little moisturizing cream.

I would have to see the bumps to know what to do.

Rub the shaving foam in well, having trimmed longer hairs with a pair of scissors, then use a new razor, afterwards rinse well and use moisturiser. Good Luck

This is what my gyno told me... Before you shave let the warm/hot water fall in that area, and also warm up the shaving cream... this will open the pores, you don't want to shave when you're cold and have those goose bumps. Apply the shaving cream and let it sit there for like 2 mins before you shave, so it can actually take effecti in softening your skin. Shave in one direction only with a fresh blade and rinse it off with warm water. Wear soft undies for the first day or so after you shave. I helps a lot if next time you take a shower, clean (as in scrub) the area with a feminine cleanser (such as summer's eve feminine wash). this may hurt a little, but it will keep the area clean and prevent in-grown hairs and those little bumps.. It's possible that you are also getting them because you just started shaving there.. With time and if you follow the above recommendations, i guarantee the bumps will go away :) I hope this helps!

Sarah, I keep telling you girls you're NOT supposed to shave your vulva ! Wake up baby. Nature is telling you that in a subtle way. Besides, we men prefer a nice crop of pretty hair there. Otherwise he's no Man honey.

If you feel you must shave there, you might want to try a little hydrocortisone cream. It's something guys use when they get razor burn of their face or where-ever. A little goes a long way, just rub it in until it's clear.
