How can you take the ORANGE tones out of your hair from hair coloring?

I am a natural medium blonde. I wanted to darken my hair at the salon with some copper highlights and they did an awful job, it looked overall orange...then they tried to fix it and left some really blonde (in contrast), thick highlights on the top and to fix that they toned it down a bit and then it looked a little better. Nevertheless, the blonder streaks really showed up and when I called the salon again yesterday to make an appointment to just go all blonde again, they gave me an appointment for next week! Since I am extremely anxious and hate the way I look, I decided to try and fix it myself (OOPS!) like I have done before many times...so I first bought a hair color remover kit to take out all artificial color and re-tint...it took out all the dark, but turned bright orange with the white streaks they did at the salon! Then I re-tinted it with a tone of light beige blonde (which said would avoid the oranges), now it is lighter, but still extremely orange...HELP!

Well...there's not really much you can do. Just wait because you don't want to mess it up even more.

But in the mean time...if you want to fade the color and downtone it a little.....Wash it a lot.

This will ware out the color a little bit.

I would say dye it all one color yourself....But it would just mess up your hair when you get it re-done at the salon.

so your best bet is to just wait.

Good luck!

Just get a ash medium brown with out ammonia. That will make look better and get also those shampoos that take the red or orange out. Then you just take care of the hair and leave alone.

Hope that help ! Report It

A blue or purple based shampoo will take that color out.
