My natural color was light blonde. I've never colored it before and I colored it with Manic Panic After midnight blue. I believe it's washed out as much as it's going to, but my hair is stained and it won't come out. Ive used a semi-perm. hair color remover, paul mitchell clarifying every day, and even laundry soap to get the stain out. nothing works. it's been 2 months. any real suggestions without having to use a harsh stripper or bleach?

Manic Panic is a very strong dye. And since you were light blonde to start out with your hair just sucked up that color. In the salon we tell people (i'm a hairdresser) to use Dawn dish liquid b/c that is high on the ph scale and will strip unwanted color to lighten but that would have to be done within the first day or so.
Unfortunately it sounds like you'll have to use some bleach (not clorox). The good news is that it can be easily done by mixing a couple scoops of powder bleach with 20 volume creme developer (about equal parts) and hot water. You want the consistency to be like tomato soup, not bisque. The mixture will be runny so do it at a sink or shower. This treatment is meant to lift levels of unwanted haircolor and it may work fast so you'll have to watch it. Start with the darkest parts first. Then rinse and shampoo, condition. It is HIGHLY likely that you'll have to use a toner or some sort of color afterwards to even out your haircolor. This process isn't too harsh on your hair, but easier for a professional to do. I've done it numerous times b/c i've been in the industry for over 16 years.
Good luck but if in doubt call your salon or a salon with a good reputation.

Hey Robin
I could say something silly like cut half of your hair off, however, i say this to my freinds quite frequently: if we thought about what we were doing before we did it then very often we wouldn't do it. Maybe a hairdresser would no better, but i think the surest way to remove the colour you have is to try and dye it the original colour it was, and on a positive note, you could cut it systematically so that eventually it grows out, but i agree that would be a time consuming process, however it is gauranteed to work.
Hope you get it sorted for christmas, (shocks) i may come round and do it myself, but then again i'm like Freddie Kruger with scissors so maybe not.
But good luck with it, and i hope it does not spoil your xmas fun.
So have yourself a good xmas and a peaceful, prosperous 2008

you're blonde.. and you died your hair dark blue... You barely had any pigment to begin with.. so your hair soaked up a lot of the blue. most likely just have to let it grow out. after reading all of the other suggestions it sounds like any combination of them could fry your hair. try getting it professionally died.

I love blonde hair and blue eyes...not blue hair. Sorry that the permanant hair colour was PERMANANT.
At least it is just permanant hair colour. If my "soul mate" had blue hair, I would ask her to wear a wig. If she would not, I would STILL love her any way.
Men do not love wives because they are beautiful on the outside (although arguably they are beautiful at least inside). She is beauful becuase we love her!!!
Blue hair, no hair, or green!!!
Forgive me for comparing it to so-called "freaks" at school, with peircings, tatoos and gaudy two tone odd hair colours. I think it is a bit too much.
Going a big step farther, my loved one tragically solved a temporary problem of not being appreciated enough, by "showing them!" with a PERMANANT solution, a "successful" suicide attempt, that no wig can hide.
I believe "attempt" is the operative word...but accidentally succeeded, beyond her expectations!
Blue hair reminds me of her blue skin. SORRY!
What is the point of changing their opinion (and a suicide attempt is a TERRIBLE way to do it) if you are not alive to benefit?
That is like killing flies with a shot gun!!! For that matter, piercings and tatoos and freakish hair is an "over the top" outlandish attempt to get respect.
Get a wig, and thank God it is not a matter or life and death. If you were colouring your hair to make a statement, like my loved one, you OVER succeeded!
I find giving respect is the best way to get respect.
I'm sayng that for any one who is suicidal about not being appreciated, like my loved one.
There is always a wiser solution. We ALL need to humble ourselves and listen for "that still, small voice" that you feel with your heart.
God loves you. Happy holidays.
