How do I fade my hair color?

My naural hair color is medium ash brown. 2 days ago, I dyed it intense auburn. Is their a gentle way of fading my hair, besides using those harsh hair color removers at the salon?

How do I fade my hair color?

i had a hair dye catastrophe a few months ago where i dyed my hair red as usual, but i used a different brand and didn't realize until after i was done that it had turned my hair magenta. i flipped. i consulted a beautician and other friends who also dye their hair regularly and the safest thing to do is just let it fade. and it probably won't take as long as you think. if you can stand the color for a few weeks, and just wash it thoroughly every day, it should fade into a nice acceptable color. red hair dye is usually at its most intense in the beginning but fades more rapidly than other colors. if in 3 weeks it doesn't look right to you still, then go get another box of a differnt shade, maybe a chestnut or brown color to cover it up. but for the sake of your hair, just let it fade out. i swear it won't take long. good luck!

Use Head%26amp;Shoulders anti-dandruff shampoo, and soap.

Leave it in for about 30 minutes, but you gotta wash your hair hard. and you have to put conditioner in afterwards, you dont want to damage you hair.

Wash it a couple times. Of all the colors red will fade the fastest.

If you've dyed your hair using permenant haircolor, then it will only fade so much through washing. Eventually, you'll need to look at other options.

Letting it grow out is one, but takes too long

If your unwilling to use bleach or color strippers (understandibly) then i would start by getting foil highlights which can then be toned to break up the auburn and match ur natural color. This gradual method is easier on the hair and is sure to work.
